Decorated cookies and Rice Krispie Treats

Here are two quick treats / projects you can make with your kids...

Most of the things in these projects really don't require much time and can be bought at the store.

What You Need:
**Roll out cookie dough or store bought cookies
Writing gels
Rice Krispie Cereal
Marshmallows
Various candies and sprinkles (optional)

What To Do:
For the Cookies

- Make the cookies and allow them to cool for at least an hour
- Separate the various candies and sprinkles in a cupcake pan to make it easier to get to.
- Divide the cookies among the children and let them create.
- Place the icing on the cookies for younger children and give them a paint brush to "paint" their cookies

What You Do:
For the Rice Krispies
- Make the Rice Krispies according to the recipe on the box
- Allow them to cool before making them into shapes to reduce the amount of stickiness.
- Separate the various candies and sprinkles in a cupcake pan to make it easier to get to.
- Divide the mix between the kids and let them shape them into their creations.
- You can use the cookie icing and writing gels to decorate and "glue" the various candies to the creation.

Tips
*The cookie icing and writing gel dry hard which allows for them to be stacked and shipped without damage to the icing.
*For the cookies to dry completely they need to set overnight.
*Surprisingly ... the icing taste REALLY good.

**I normally use the cookie dough recipe from the Cookie Craft Book but this is a great alternative
