Tips & Tricks Thursday

Today's tip is about drying and displaying your kids art. Since we made paint on Monday, we are now going to need a place for them to dry and a place to show off are little "works of art".

*The pictures show were painted with the finger paints made on Monday. As you can see, the paint does keep its color well after it dries.

Here is what you need:

Yarn or string

Nails or thumbtacks

Clothes pins

What to do:

1. Measure and mark out the places you want the nails to go. Hammer or push them into place.

2. Tie the first end of yarn around the first nail/tack. Make sure it is a tight knot. Tightly pull the string across to the second nail/tack. You want to make sure it is really tight because the weight of the paper and clothes pins will make it sag a bit.

3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 for all the rows you need.

Voila! You now have a place to hang the kids paintings to dry and be displayed until the next time they want to paint.

Here is a little TRICK for you too ...

If you run out of finger painting paper, let the kids paint on freezer paper. Just make sure they paint on the shiny side. I don't know why, but it does make a difference.
